At an outdoor, you could offer flip-flops to everyone, but if you go with slippers for the female, what type of footwear will you give the males? And, how will you determine sizes? With flip-flops, sizes can be much more general, but a slipper is fitted and needs to be an exact size. And, maybe it is just me, but I think footwear as a wedding favor is a little strange.
