Wedding Planning Secrets

I am in a wedding in a couple of weeks, Im wearing a knee length dress and my shoes are basically closed toe, just the very tip is open, but that's it. Also the heel is closed as well. My legs are pale and they are really hard to tan. The rest of my body is tanned, but my legs are never has dark and it looks funny. Since I have a closed shoe, should I wear pantyhose? I really would like to, but would it be weird for an outdoor wedding?
Also, what is the best kind of pantyhose to buy and where can you buy them? I live in Ontario.

Wear the pantyhose. You'll be more comfortable. In my opinion, wearing pantyhose to a wedding is elegant, not weird.

If the rest of your body is tan, try to match with "Suntan" color or "tan" color. If these are too dark, try “nude” color pantyhose.

Pantyhose style/type: I’d skip the ultra-sheers, for despite their good looks, they are 100% nylon. You’re bound to get a run, even if you just turn your head to sneeze. They will also start to bag at the ankles and knees after a few trips to the ladies room, and perhaps most importantly, they will feel as scratchy as can be.

If you're a pantyhose newbie, a support pantyhose like L’eggs Sheer Energy might be a good choice for you. They're comfy and silky and the lycra helps them stay put. Avoid control-tops; they do wonders for the figure, but they are more difficult to put on and can be very uncomfortable for unaccustomed newcomers.

If the L'eggs Sheer Energy seem too opaque to you, you could maybe go with Hanes Silk Reflections, or Body by Victoria (Victoria’s Secret), or similar. These are more sheer (with less Lycra) than Sheer Energy, but still with enough Lycra for comfort, fit, and durability (more than ultra-sheers anyway). My ex-girlfriend was a Silk Reflections girl until I bought her several pair of Victoria’s Secret pantyhose. Once she tried them, she was a Body by Victoria woman from then on.

Finally, try on the pantyhose well before the special night. Make sure your hands, feet, and nails are all smoothed out and devoid of rough edges. Put a teensy bit of lotion on if you're still concerned. Get comfortable and carefully roll and gather up one leg of the pantyhose, so that your toes and toenails touch as little of the pantyhose leg as possible. Gently slide and glide the pantyhose up and over your foot, ankle and calf. Go up the leg as far as you can, and then repeat the process with the other leg. You might try closing your legs and putting the other leg as close as possbile to the first leg, to get ready for the stretch required to put the second leg into the gathered up pantyhose sheath. The heel of your second leg with have to be pulled up high, near the knee of the first leg.

When you have the second leg covered, slowly and gently pull up each leg until you reach the panty portion. Pull the pantyhose up the rest of the way over your hips to the waist. Slip your hands flatly underneath the waistband and into the panty portion to adjust the final position of the pantyhose. Examine your legs in a full length mirror and gently pull up and adjust as needed. If you're height and/or weight fall in between sizes on the size chart, it's always better to go up to the next larger size.

As far as availability in Ontario goes, ask yourself which stores near you carry a lot of products from the USA? L'eggs Sheer Energy are available in the USA in drug stores, discount department stores, and grocery stores. Hanes Silk Reflections are available in the USA in department stores, both "high end" and "discount". Body by Victoria are only available at Victoria’s Secret stores (try a big indoor mall).

Good Luck, and enjoy the wedding! I'm sure you'll look great!

It might be hot. No hose would be more comfortable.

DEFINTLY! It will give you some color and make you look nice and smooth. –No one will even notice if they are nude color bc the toe is covered.

Go with a semi-sheer….but NOT the shiny types. They are uncomfortable and will reflect the sun lol. I think they are shinier for a reason, but that wont be good outdoors. Make sure its a soft non-reflective nylon haha

    Have fun at the wedding!

don't do it….I feel like if its an outdoor wedding then you really don't have to be super formal. I say go with out the pantyhose especially if its hot outside you will be so much more comfortable without it. I've always heard that those rub on instant self tanners that you can get from your local convenience store work really well.

Yes, even though it's outdoors you should wear pantyhose. It is a formal occasion after all!
Get a lighter denier hose, they are cooler.

    You could even try these.

They should definitely be worn, many women don't realize it, but not wearing hose looks downright tacky and classless.

most definately! Pantyhose should be worn for a formal occassion…regardless if its outside or inside. Weather is always used as an "excuse" to not wear pantyhose. I myself wear pantyhose 24/7. For me, its comfortable, relaxing and supportive. I stand by pantyhose to the fullest and just wished more women would wearand stop complaining and creating more excuses of not wearing.

Extremely sheer, nude stockings with the whole garter ensemble to dress-up the knee length dress might be fun, elegant and a treat for the groom to discover when the honeymooning begins!

Peep-toe heels work fine with sheer hosiery, just don't get any reinforced toe… go with seemless or "invisible toe."

    You're the bride, silly… don't worry about guests looking at your legs… that's your soon-to-be hubby's job!

    Congratulations!
