we wanna get marry in spring with just close family members (around 10)…we need to get accommodation for all of them (as they’re coming from aboard) and any tips for venues?
Heres a few tips i used to save some $ on my wedding.
* Have a friend you trust take pictures!
* Have a family member video tape the ceremony!
* Make your own favors! There are lots of ideas out there!
* Visit bulk stores ( like Costco and Sam’s Club) to get deals on Flowers, cakes and wine! That’s what i did! Most of those places will work with you too!
* Spend money on whats most important to you! Make a list numbered 1-10 of things you want..and spend a little more on 1-5 and less on 6-10!
* Put cards on tables with an email address, so guest can send pictures they take to you!
* Skip chair covers! (as long as the chairs are in decent shape) i did! and no one noticed that i didn’t have them!

Can’t comment on the venues, since I don’t know where you live…
I think the only good way to save is to have a completely separate account for the wedding savings and not use it for anything else. Everyone is able to skim off a portion of their paycheck every payday and put it directly to the separate account. It doesn’t matter if you can’t automatically put down hundreds, even $20 helps if you do it consistently on each and every paycheck. I also have a wedding dreams jar. Every time I start fantasizing about fancy flowers or some other beautiful aspect of the wedding, I pull out my wallet and take out a couple of dollar bills to put in the jar. When I empty the jar, the cash goes into the wedding account. I may not have the cash to go to the Starbucks that day, but I feel great knowing that I will have a beautiful event without going into debt for it!

Call several local hotels and tell them what day you’re wedding will be, most offer a discount on several rooms being rented for several days. (two or three days)
Also, if you have the space I would cook dinners at your house. Getting bulk foods from Sam’s Club or Costco will save money and you can feed 10 people as easily as two. You could also take them out to a restuarant one night, some have group prices if you only order 2 different types of food. Or order in places like Olive Garden and some Mexican and Chinesse restaurants give you enough food for two people in every meal.
As for venues try a local parks and recs center, it should be relatively cheap to rent.

I would need to know where you’re located to give any specific advice.

ways to save up money for wedding:
start saving up money the day after engagement and start gradually buyng things until the big day.
Have the reception in your churches basement, a park, etc……
my cousin and finance had a reception at a building in the park where they first met. They drove off in the very first car he got.
Another girl I know, had her reception in an Armory Building (National Army Guard building whatever)
make some of refreshments for your self.

You can get married in a civil ceremony at a hotel and this will usually do you a really good deal on the rooms and meals as well. You should be able to have the ceremony for about £300, meals for £30 per head and rooms from about £30 per person. Ask around a few hotels and see what deals there are.
