I have about 7 months to plan my wedding. I have no idea what I'm doing. I have a tight budget. I would say about $5-7 grand. I would like it outside…and so far head count is about 150…thats about all I got so far. Now what should we do??
This is the time to pull all your family and friends together…the ones that can help in anyway possible for example.. Any of your family or friends that can do:
1. DJ ing or any kind of music playing
2. Vow ceremony officiating
3. Can bake and decorate a wedding cake (love doing those)
4. Hand make bows/decorations (very easy)
5. Good carpenter.. (have them make an arch for you to get married infront on on the beach)
6. Seamstress…make the ring pillow fabric and stuffing is very cheap compared to what you will pay for brandnew. Add a few pears or whatnot and have it your way.
7. Party favors can be small netting bags of your favorite candies, hershey kisses, a candle, a bell w/ your names on it… also very cheap to make and a stress releiver when things get hectic.
Check Ebay…they have amazing prices on wedding decorations and gowns. I got mine off Ebay for a hundred dollars, brand new, gorgeous..just remember to buy 2 sizes bigger in a wedding dress than you normally wear in regular clothes.

Ok so another wedding question.If you read my other question i mentioned my sister getting married well she decided on the colors black, gray (silver), and white.It's a winter wedding in Paris, France.To my question what kind of flowers would look best with the whole black and white "theme"??? Can you die flowers like gray or somthing withought it looking weird??? Or would it look good with the tips of the flowers dyed with 1 of those certain colors? Thx Bunches!!! If you can could you send a link on the web of ideas of flowers for that type of wedding?
Red roses would be so dramatic. Or fire-and-ice roses. It would be like a romantic old black-and-white movie with a splash of red. Besides that, roses are easy to get any time of the year.
I live in nj close to ny and I really want to try working in wedding planning. I’d love to find a job as an assistant or intern for an event planning firm to get my foot in the door but I have had a hard time finding openings or information. Any ideas, tips, suggestions are welcome. Thank You !!!!
You have to be willing to work for free, at least for a couple of events. Also, ask to help plan a friend’s wedding for free. Then document everything you do - pricing, organization, whatever. Take pictures too. This is how you start building a portfolio and resume in order to get a real job in the future. Every time you meet someone who sells anything even remotely related to weddings, get their business card and stay in touch - this means flowers, dj services, dresses, rental property, you name it.
It would also help to get a degree in business and/or design, etc. as well.
