Feng Shui Advice Tips for the Love Life

hi, my name is Peter David Reis, and here’s a feng shui power tip for the bedroom. it will keep you safe and sound as you sleep. one way we do it in feng shui is checking out the headboard. you want a solid headboard, no holes, no cuts, you can make it out of wood or it can be carved, just as long as it doesn’t go through. it can be fabric, or if necessary, you can have no headboard, you can just have your head against the wall. avoid brass beds and raw iron beds, especially brass beds. what do they look like? they look like jail. it’s not a healthy way to be, you want to have something solid protecting you behind you as you sleep.

I was originally planning an outdoor affair, and I was going to offer my guests flip flops… :) …. I’m happy like that. It was easy to find bulk flip flops.

But now I’m thinking that those cute chinese mary jane style slippers would be better (since we’ve moved inside and upped the ante a bit- this is going to be a fancier wedding than I’d originally planned). Does anyone know where to find these? I don’t want those mesh slippers. And I don’t want to spend a fortune either.

Any tips?

Just a thought…are you going to have male guests at your wedding? At an outdoor, you could offer flip-flops to everyone, but if you go with slippers for the female, what type of footwear will you give the males? And, how will you determine sizes? With flip-flops, sizes can be much more general, but a slipper is fitted and needs to be an exact size. And, maybe it is just me, but I think footwear as a wedding favor is a little strange. Don’t get me wrong, I think giving flip-flops at an outdoor wedding is a GREAT idea, but once you decided to move the event indoors, you may want to reconsider your choice to have footwear as a wedding favor.

I'm getting married next spring and am looking for tips on how to have a small, elegant and inexpensive wedding. We will probably marry at my old college…the setting is exquisite. We might skip the cake and my dress is going to be a bridesmaid dress instead of a big cupcake of a wedding dress. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!

It sounds like you're on the right track so far. I just got married this past June and we spent $6,500 with 110 guests. Don't skip the cake, though, that is such a great tradition. You can get a cake from Publix, or any grocery store, for a reasonable price. Mine was $220 (including the delivery fee) and it fed 100 people. And you have the right idea about your wedding dress, I got mine from Dillards. Some other tips are: get family and friends to help you with everything. You can make a lot of things that will save you money. Don't go overboard on flowers, find them cheap at a flea market or do something different for centerpieces (like floating candles). And you could even put together your own bouquets for cheaper. For pictures, a good idea that I've seen on here is to take the bridal party to Glamour Shots before the ceremony, it's a lot cheaper. And then just have someone take pics of the ceremony and the reception with a good digital camera. You could also get a friend to videotape it and make that their gift to you. Are you having the reception at the college, too? If not, you could rent a hall for it or just have it at a park or someone's house to save money. For food, go with a buffet. This will be your most costly thing. Get some quotes from caterers, tell them your budget and they'll tell you what foods they can serve for that price. If it's still out of your price change, get party platters from restaurants. You could do stuff like wings, eggrolls, chicken fingers, ribs, mashed potatoes, salad, Italian, just about anything. They'll supply you with huge servings of whatever food you want. You would still want to hire some servers to clean up and set up the food. You don't want to worry about that on the big day. And if you're serving alcohol, get a bartender. Letting guests serve themselves can cause a big mess. Buy your alcohol and sodas when they're on sale. You could even serve only beer and wine to save more money. For wedding favors, shop around on the internet, then check out Ebay for the same items and compare prices. I found the same exact stuff on there for cheaper than other websites. They also sell wedding invitations which is how I found mine. Good luck and remember this is yours and your fiance's day, nobody elses!

I am looking for make-up, tips or whatever. I need the makeup to last ALL day, please help me. My sister is being witchy and won't tell me what she used on us for another wedding so now I am searching.
Thank you….

As expensive as they are, I find the more expensive make up brands like "chanel" or "MAC" to be the best for events like that. For prom, I got my make-up done at Chanel and the make-up lasted all day/night.. it was wonderful. Look into that, maybe you can have your make up done there or at a similar make-up stand for the wedding. (I paid $30.00 though, but I got to pick out a lipstick! See how it works with your local make-up places.)

What are some good tips starting off planning a wedding, to save money from the start? I love the traditional everything–but I also need to keep the cost in mind…any advice?? :)
Hey Jenn,
Do your homework :) I had to do ALOT of research to try to stay within my dads budget. I found a country club to have the ceremony/reception in, im having it during the day to save money, We're having a two entree buffet for lunch and it's only 16 dollars per person!

I made my own invitations
www.chesneydevine.com
click on our invitations
password is invite

that saved us ALOT we made 70 invites for roughly 70 bucks…

Sometimes places that work together will offer discounts, my photographer and cake lady work together closely so i got a discount for using both (from both places!)

My cousin is doing my flowers, not real but silk, i want to be able to keep them without paying a ton of money to preserve.

My dress was expensive..i wanted to splurge on my dress it was 700…

If you need help shoot me an email chesneydevine@gmail.com and i'll be more than happy to help you out! :)

Good Luck!
